Job Requirement | Experience : 3-4 years in procurement, specifically in civil construction and manufacturing plant setup. Job Location : Navi Mumbai (Turbhe) Need to travel all Green Field Projects Purpose: The Purchase Executive will be responsible for the procurement of construction materials, machinery, equipment, and services for manufacturing plant construction and setup. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in procurement within the civil construction sector and familiarity with managing vendor relations, negotiations, and purchase order processes, while ensuring cost-effective sourcing and timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Planning and Execution: · Assist in preparing and implementing procurement plans for civil construction and manufacturing plant projects. · Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand the material requirements and timelines. · Analyze market trends and develop strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials. · Manage procurement of construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.), plant machinery, and infrastructure-related equipment.
2. Vendor Management: · Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers for construction materials and plant equipment. · Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers. · Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure best value for the organization. · Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contract terms, ensuring quality standards and on-time deliveries.
3. Purchase Order and Contract Management: · Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) as per the project’s requirements and budget approvals. · Ensure all POs are in line with the company's procurement policies and procedures. · Review contracts with vendors and suppliers, ensuring clarity on terms, pricing, and scope of work. · Coordinate with the finance team for timely processing of payments and resolving any invoice discrepancies.
4. Inventory and Logistics Coordination: · Coordinate with the warehouse and site teams to manage the inventory of materials. · Ensure materials are delivered to the site in a timely manner, avoiding any project delays due to material shortages. · Track and monitor inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock for ongoing and upcoming projects. · Collaborate with logistics providers for transportation of heavy machinery or bulk materials to construction sites.
5. Cost Control and Budget Management: · Assist in managing procurement budgets, ensuring purchases are within approved limits. · Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality. · Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to assess market rates and procurement strategies. · Regularly report procurement expenses to management, highlighting potential risks and savings.
6. Compliance and Documentation: · Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks. · Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including POs, invoices, delivery receipts, contracts, and vendor performance reports. · Conduct audits of procurement documents to ensure transparency and accountability.
7. Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams: · Work closely with the project management, finance, legal, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth project execution. · Assist in resolving any issues related to procurement, such as delays, quality discrepancies, or supply chain disruptions. · Provide regular updates to the management on procurement activities, project progress, and any risks associated with supply chain operations.

1. Technical Knowledge: · Strong understanding of procurement processes in civil construction and plant setup. · Familiarity with construction materials, machinery, and infrastructure equipment. · Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications for accurate material procurement.
2. Negotiation and Vendor Relations: Proven negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms with vendors. Ability to manage vendor relations and ensure consistent supplier performance.
3. Project Management: Experience in coordinating with project teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and services. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Cost Management and Analysis: Ability to conduct cost analysis and control procurement expenses. Familiarity with budget management, cost-saving strategies, and financial reporting.
5. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure procurement processes align with project requirements and standards. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all procurement activities.
6. Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams. Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with different departments.

· On-time procurement: Ensure timely procurement of all required materials and equipment for projects. · Cost savings: Achieve negotiated savings on procurement without compromising quality. · Vendor performance: Maintain a high level of vendor satisfaction and compliance with agreed terms. · Inventory turnover: Minimize excess inventory and manage materials efficiently to avoid wastage. · Compliance rate: Ensure 100% adherence to procurement policies, documentation, and audit compliance.
Experience and Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. · Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in procurement, specifically in civil construction or manufacturing. · Prior experience working in a manufacturing setup or large construction projects is highly desirable.
