Job Responsibilities :
A Region Sales Representative will aggressively develop and execute a sales/marketing strategy for their region with the fundamental objective to increase sales and profitability. He/she will be called upon to further penetrate markets in which Elgin products compete. He/she will be an active participant in overall business planning.
1. General Responsibilities a. Develop lasting customer relationships by being a conduit for troubleshooting, product information, market insight and technical know-how. This will include visiting customer sites, learning about their operations and engaging in the commissioning and start-up of equipment sold. The ultimate objective is to represent Elgin as a consultative resource to the markets by which we compete, regardless of the customer’s needs or the potential sale it may generate for Elgin. b. Elevate all client relations to the strategic partnership level (vs. simply a tactical, reactive relationship). Develop and maintain favorable relationships with all customers and ensure that high level, personalized customer service isprovided at all times. Recognize when a “team sales” approach may be required and quickly engage team members to close deals. c. Conduct follow-up after every sales meeting, product commissioning, and field service effort to maintain an intimate knowledge of the customer’s sentiments relative to their engagement with the Company. d. Product candid and value-driven feedback to Engineering as received from Elgin’s customers relative to any product concerns or opportunities for improvement. e. Development of a target customer database via market research, cold calling, and lead development. Use company and publicly-available resources to target potential customers. Direct regional sales activities to include an analysis of competitive products and selling techniques, market research, market legislation, and sales budgets and quotas. f. Implement and achieve rapid and sustainable growth in sales, with an emphasis on sustainable sales. This will require the development of a sales pipeline with opportunities being managed at varying stages of execution. g. Use and maintain the company’s Customer Relationship Management system in order to enhance conversion rates. Maintain continual reporting with the team through both weekly reports and e-mail correspondence.
2. Planning / Program Development a. Execute a strong channel strategy. b. Prepare Sales and Market forecasts and budgets; including quarterly rolling sales forecasts. c. Recommend short and long-term sales goals; and be responsible for preparation of the annual regional sales plan. d. Develop long and short-range revenue objectives.
3. Marketing a. Work closely with Marketing to develop Case Studies and Press Releases. b. Provide customer feedback from the field with Elgin equipment, their suggestions for further improvements and relative comparisons with competitors in terms of cost and quality of products.Provide “post-mortem” feedback from all commissioning and field-service efforts. c. Work closely with Marketing to develop a consistent product message and image that addresses industrial customer requirements and the many environmental benefits of Elgin’s products. d. Provide input from the field for the addition of new product lines and product applications in new industries. e. Actively use social media and internet platform to enhance Elgin’s reputational standing and product and services position. f. Personally represent Elgin as a high-integrity and forward-looking organization focused on providing solutions first and products second.
4. Sales / Profitability a. Work closely with customers to negotiate favorable deliveries. b. Work closely with the Director of Sales to achieve sales and margin growth and successfully implement a growth mindset within the organization. c. Help identify means to improve product margins or opportunities to improve product pricing.
5. Other Responsibilities a. Issuance of invoices and sales order acknowledgments. b. Collection of customer payments. c. Update customer information, as needed. d. Must be able to fluently communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job. e. Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations. f. Must be capable of travelling up to 50%. g. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Position : Executive / Asst.
