Job Summary:
The Director of Operations will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations ,ensuring seamless production, supply chain efficiency, and organizational growth. This individual will be accountable for the company’s overall operational strategy, profitability (P&L), and operational leadership, particularly in a manufacturing setup within the closures industry (soft drinks, beverages, liquor). The role requires an expert with strong operational management capabilities, deep knowledge of the industry, and a proven ability to manage a large-scale manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Strategy and Leadership:

Develop, implement, and optimize operational strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.

Ensure operational excellence by maintaining and improving efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across manufacturing facilities.

Lead initiatives for continuous process improvement, ensuring scalability and adaptability of operations.

Drive the long-term operational strategy with a focus on delivering results aligned with the company's business objectives.
Profit & Loss (P&L) Management:

Full accountability for the company’s P&L, ensuring profitability while maintaining operational efficiency.

Analyze financial data, operational costs, and margins to optimize profitability across all business units.

Collaborate with finance teams to set and achieve financial targets.
Manufacturing and Production Oversight:

Oversee daily operations in manufacturing plants to ensure timely production, high product quality, and adherence to industry standards.

Ensure efficient use of resources, including raw materials, technology, and workforce, to maximize productivity.

Address and resolve production bottlenecks and challenges by collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Implement and maintain best practices in production processes, machinery usage, and safety regulations.
Stakeholder Management:

Act as a key liaison between internal teams, external partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Represent the organization in discussions with clients, vendors, and business partners to secure operational objectives.

Foster and manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment of operational strategies with business goals.
Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse and high-performing team, ensuring effective performance management and employee engagement.

Drive a culture of accountability, ethics, and collaboration across the operations division.

Travel and Site Visits:

Be prepared for extensive travel across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring on-the-ground leadership and oversight.

Perform regular audits of production facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
Educational Qualifications:
Must be a Technical Graduate in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience:

20-25 years of post-qualification experience in a manufacturing setup, preferably in the closures or packaging industry.

Proven track record of holding a strategic leadership role in operations with responsibility for P&L management.

Strong operational management experience, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
