Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Engineer with experience in the fabrication industry to join our team. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for managing and coordinating production schedules, material planning, resource allocation, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project planning and engineering principles, with the ability to optimize processes to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Project Planning:

Develop and manage detailed production schedules for fabrication projects to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Coordinate with various departments, including design, procurement, and production, to ensure alignment with project schedules.

Forecast manpower, material, and equipment needs based on project requirements.
Material and Resource Management:

Analyze material requirements and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.

Plan and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize production flow and reduce downtime.
Monitoring and Reporting:

Track progress of projects, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.

Prepare and present regular progress reports, including productivity analysis, resource utilization, and cost monitoring.

Update project schedules to reflect changes in project scope, resources, or timelines.
Quality Control and Compliance:

Ensure all planning activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure adherence to industry standards throughout the fabrication process.
Cost Management and Optimization:

Monitor project costs and identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Implement cost-control measures to minimize budget overruns and maintain profitability.
Collaboration and Communication:

Liaise with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings to review project progress and address potential challenges.
Continuous Improvement:

Identify areas for improvement in planning and scheduling processes to increase productivity and reduce lead times.

Introduce and implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices within the planning function.
Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the fabrication or manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera, MS Project, or similar tools; advanced Excel skills.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and production planning principles.

Skills: Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail.

Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Additional Requirements:
